Learning, one Victory at a time…
About Battle Tutoring LLC
In your corner, every lesson.
Battle Tutoring LLC is a boutique educational practice built on a simple conviction: when students are truly seen, supported and challenged, they flourish. Founded by veteran educator Elisse Battle, the practice offers personalized, one-on-one guidance for families who want both academic excellence and genuine care, delivered with the insight that only decades in the classroom can provide.
Our Founder
With 24 years of distinguished service in educational environments such as Georgetown Day School, Trinity School and Collegiate School, Elisse Battle brings a rare blend of leadership, specialized expertise and heartfelt advocacy to every student she serves. She currently holds the position of Assistant Head of Middle School at The Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn, New York, one of the region's most respected independent schools.
Elisse's academic foundation reflects her lifelong devotion to understanding how students learn. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University at Albany and a Master of Science in Moderate Special Needs from Simmons College in Boston. She then brought her talents to Washington, D.C., where she championed student support across a variety of roles and began building the wide-ranging expertise that defines her work today.
With more than two decades, Elisse has shaped learning communities in many capacities: as an Assistant Director and Special Needs Coordinator, Inclusion Coordinator and Intervention Specialist, Learning Specialist, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator, and Middle School Dean of Students. Each role has deepened her understanding of the whole child, from the learner who needs a clearer path to the student ready to soar.
A Voice for Equity and Belonging
Elisse's influence extends well beyond any single school. She has shared her expertise on national stages. At the 2018 National People of Color Conference she presented Inclusive and Equitable Learning Support for All Students, and at the 2021 National Coalition of Girls' Schools conference she presented The Importance of Being Seen: Affirming Black Girls in Predominantly White Institutions. At Trinity, she contributed to the school's self-study, carefully evaluating its K–12 Learning Support Program and helping chart its future direction.
A lifelong learner herself, Elisse is a member of the Emerging Leaders Institute (Cohort 2023–2025), a select program that cultivates visionary leadership in independent schools. Her capstone work, Creating and Maintaining Equitable Learning Spaces and Academic Standards that Support All Student Learners, reflects the philosophy at the core of Battle Tutoring: rigor and belonging are not opposites, but partners.
